It's Abdou, from the Vitality 2023 team!
This is the first post for this year's Blog.
On Monday, 13th of March, 2023, Milica Dordevic and me were the first arrivals of the new team. We were well welcomed that evening and a lovely reception was held the next day. I have to say that I'm personally astonished by how beautiful the region is, especially Bergolo. I take a lot of photos. It was a vibrant week. I learned a lot so far in many fields, and we participated in activities like gardening, selection of participants for a youth exchange project in Portugal and having interviews with them. We also attended two intercultural Introductory presentations at a elementary school in Cortemilia by volunteers from last year's team; Angelina and Sefa about their countries. As well as a fun Italian lesson at the same school. In addition, last Sunday, we all went to Castosio for a beautiful spring festival of ancient fruits and grafts in its 9th edition.
For me, the first week of my volunteering experience was also challenging because many things are totally new to me. I sometimes bother my colleagues and our coordinator Silvia with questions. So.. I am excited to meet the new volunteers of my team that will arrive in April. I believe Vitality project 2023 is going to as prosperous as previous ones. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
